SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Fredrick "Fred" N. Nahra of Milan, who
4passed away on November 20, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Nahra was born to Faras and Alice (Wimple)
6Nahra in Kewanee on May 22, 1931; he served in the U.S. Air
7Force during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954; he married Lynda
8Regal on November 24, 1989; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Fred Nahra worked as an accountant for the Rock
10Island Arsenal for 18 years while also running his own
11accounting firm; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Fred Nahra was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic
13Church, the Rock Island VFW, Rock Island Elks Lodge 980, and
14the Knights of Columbus; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Fred Nahra enjoyed golfing, gardening, and mowing
16the grass; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Fred Nahra was preceded in death by his parents
18and his siblings, Fayes Nahra, Catherine Hepner, and Robinette
19Chandler; and

1    WHEREAS, Fred Nahra is survived by his wife; his children,
2Edie Quilty and Lawrence Colburn; his grandchildren, Andy
3Herrick, Elaina Quilty, Maria Quilty, Luca Colburn, and Oscar
4Colburn; and his siblings, Alice VanKerbrocke,and Faras "John"
5(Judy) Nahra; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Fredrick "Fred" N. Nahra and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Fred Nahra as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
