SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ronald A. Sivill of Rock Island, who
4passed away on November 9, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Sivill was born to Floyd and Edna
6(Swanson) Sivill in Paxton on July 12, 1923; during World War
7II, he served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in the
8Marshall Islands on Kwajalein Atoll, where he was wounded and
9received a Purple Heart; he married Donna Townsend on November
104, 1950 in Rock Island; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ronald Sivill retired from International
12Harvester and was very active in UAW Local 281; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ronald Sivill was a member of Grace Presbyterian
14Church and Moline American Legion Post #246; he was proud to
15take part in an Honor Flight of the Quad Cities; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ronald Sivill enjoyed camping, fishing,
17traveling, walking, square dancing, watching western movies,
18finding bargains, reading, and spending time with his family;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ronald Sivill was preceded in death by his

1parents; his stepfather, Henry Swick; his sister-in-law, Nancy
2Sivill; and his stepsister, Barbara Yancy; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ronald Sivill is survived by his wife of 72
4years, Donna; his children, Kathy (Rick Schloemer) Sivill,
5Mark (Susie) Sivill, David Sivill, Tom (Karrie) Sivill, and
6John (Teri) Sivill; his grandchildren, Adam (Tara) Bickle,
7Alex Bickle, Anna (Alex Totoiu) Sivill, Michael (Travis
8Nelson) Sivill, Elizabeth (Aaron) Hoscheid, Smantha (Ridge
9Ness) Sivill, Stacy (Nate) Harroun, Andrew (Kianna) Sivill,
10Kevin (Adrea) Sivill, and Eric (fiancé, Aubrey Harrold)
11Sivill; his great-grandchildren, Maxton, Greta, Theo, Hendrix,
12Cora, Evelyn, Ella, and one on the way; his brother, Paul
13Sivill; and his stepsister, Alva Richards; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Ronald A. Sivill and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Ronald Sivill as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
