SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Fred Lue of Carbon Cliff, who passed
4away on November 5, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Lue was born to Fred and Ila Forbes Lue in
6Rock Island on November 20, 1943; he served in the U.S. Army in
7Europe from 1963 to 1966; he married Patricia Tolliver in East
8Moline on December 27, 1977; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Fred Lue was employed with his father at the
10Plantation Nite Club during his last part of high school
11before joining the U.S. Army; after his military service, he
12was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal, where he served in
13various computer-related positions for 37 years; during this
14time, he was awarded the Civilian Achievement Award; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Fred Lue was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders
16in Iowa and Illinois; he also belonged to Marine Moms, All
17Vets, American Legion Post 26, Soldier Angels, Honor Flight of
18the Quad Cities, and All Vets Healing Field of the Quad Cities;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Fred Lue spent time building plastic military
21models and enjoyed playing guitar in bands over the years,

1including the Royal Rockers during high school, Gemeni 5 while
2in Germany, and later with the Sunrise band; he also enjoyed
3reading and visiting historical sites; he especially enjoyed
4homecomings of military personnel at the Quad Cities Airport;
5more than anything, he loved spending time with his wife,
6children, and grandchildren; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Fred Lue was preceded in death by his parents;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Fred Lue is survived by his wife of 44 years,
10Patricia Lue; his children, Jeremy (Britta) Lue, Ken Lue, Tim
11(Lyndsey) Lue, Kim Congleton, and Chris Congleton; and his
12grandchildren, Alexis, Noah, and Leo; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Fred Lue and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
16friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Fred Lue as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
