SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Harold Dean Davidson Sr. of Moline,
4who passed away on October 14, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Davidson was born to Gus and Vennie
6(Larson) Davidson in Oakman, Alabama on April 18, 1944; he
7graduated from Rock Island High School in 1962; he attended
8Black Hawk College and St. Ambrose University; he served in
9the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; he married Carole
10Paul in Moline on June 12, 1969; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harold Davidson served as a lieutenant police
12officer in Moline from 1968 to 1996; he then worked as a
13sheriff's deputy for Rock Island County; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Harold Davidson enjoyed fishing, reading, and
15completing crossword puzzles; he was also an avid fan of the
16University of Alabama, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago
17Bears; he especially enjoyed spending time with his family;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Harold Davidson was preceded in death by his
20parents and his brothers, Claude and Allen Patton; and

1    WHEREAS, Harold Davidson is survived by his wife, Carole;
2his sons, H. Dean Davidson Jr. and Scott (Heidi) Davidson; his
3daughter, Cherity (Paul) Machnick; his grandchildren, Canyon
4Davidson, Phoenix Davidson, and Rowan Machnick; his sister,
5Sue Waite; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Harold Dean Davidson Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Harold Davidson as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
