SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard "Rich" Ryza of Des Plaines,
4who passed away on August 18, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Ryza attended Proviso East High School;
6he later joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an
7airplane mechanic; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Ryza worked for 37 years as a heating and
9air-conditioning installer, retiring from Ibbotson Heating
10Company; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Ryza was a Weblos and Boy Scout Leader
12with Pack and Troop 25 in Des Plaines; he volunteered at the
13Des Plaines Self Help Food Pantry and was captain of the Forest
14Avenue Neighborhood Watch for many years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Ryza's family was always the most
16important thing to him; he loved his home and enjoyed working
17on it; he also enjoyed model railroading, woodworking,
18dancing, camping, and golf; he would always be willing to go
19out of his way to lend a helping hand; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Richard Ryza was preceded in death by his

1daughter, Deborah; his parents, Marie and Paul; and his
2brother, Paul Ryza; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Richard Ryza is survived by his loving wife of 60
4years, Ruth; his children, David and Greg; his
5daughter-in-law, Kim; his three grandchildren, Rachel, Kylie,
6and Zach; his sister, Venessa Riley; his brother-in-law, James
7Riley; and his half brother, Paul Richardson; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Richard "Rich" Ryza and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Richard Ryza as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
