SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" King, who passed away
4on July 10, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tony King was born in the Durcan home in Aclare,
6Tubbercurry, County Sligo, Ireland to Joseph and Kathleen
7(Durcan) King on February 27, 1945; he graduated from Leo High
8School in Chicago in 1963 and served in the U.S. Army from 1966
9to 1968, where he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam
10War; he obtained his bachelor's degree from Lewis University
11and his master's degree from Governors State University and
12spent most of his adult life living in the Joliet area; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tony King retired from Valley View School
14District 365U after 32 years of teaching; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Tony King was a past member of V.F.W. Post #12059
16Plainfield and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council
17#12863 Channahon and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church; he
18was an avid reader and a member of the Joliet Library Book
19Club; his passion was gardening, evident by the vegetables and
20gorgeous flower beds he grew in his yard; his love of travel
21took him and his family on many wonderful trips in the U.S. and
22Europe; and

1    WHEREAS, Tony King was preceded in death by his parents;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Tony King is survived by his wife of 40 years,
4Teresa "Terri" (Wilhelmi) King; his son, Anthony J. King Jr.;
5his brothers-in-law, Joseph R. (Cathy) Wilhelmi, Chris (the
6late Ann Marie) Wilhelmi, and Tom (the late Angie) Wilhelmi;
7his niece, Lisa (Marc) Judnick and their children, Gregory and
8Noelle; his nephew, Joseph (Cheryl) Wilhelmi and their son,
9Carter; his niece, Jessica Wilhelmi and her daughters, Maecyn
10and Hadley; his nieces, Rachel and Sophia Wilhelmi; his
11cousin, John Durkin and the Durkin family; his friends, Jose
12Garcia and Joe and Bonnie Dressar; his neighbors, Marty and
13Cathy Lepacek and Sherri and Mike Kirincich; and numerous
14other cousins and friends; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Anthony "Tony" King and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Tony King as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
