SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert E. "Bud" Kaminke of Streator,
4formerly of Long Point, who passed away on June 26, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke was born to Russell and Lois
6(Pickett) Kaminke in Streator on February 21, 1933; he
7graduated from Long Point High School in 1952 and attended
8Millikin University in Decatur; he served as an airplane
9mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict; he
10married Carol Kimpling on August 19, 1956; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke retired from farming in the Long
12Point area after many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke was a former member of the Long Point
14Volunteer Fire Department; he was a lifetime member of the
15Long Point Christian Church until its closing in December
162019; he was an avid bowler in several leagues at the Bowl Mor
17Lanes in Streator; he also enjoyed playing water volleyball at
18the Flanagan Memorial Pool; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke was preceded in death by his parents
20and his sister, Janet Metz; and

1    WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke is survived by his wife, Carol; his
2daughter, Susan (Dr. Arthur) Stern; his son, Thomas R. (Julie)
3Kaminke; his grandchildren, Jennifer Stern, Jeffery (Audra)
4Stern, James Stern, Carly Kaminke, and Connor (Allie) Kaminke;
5his brother-in-law, Sam (Sandi) Kimpling; his sister-in-law,
6Margaret Murray; and his several nieces and nephews;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Robert E. "Bud" Kaminke and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Bud Kaminke as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
