SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dr. John Roberts Bandy of Normal,
4formerly of Raymond, who passed away on June 14, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Bandy was born in Litchfield to Elmer H. and
6Carroll C. (Roberts) Bandy on October 3, 1951; he graduated
7from the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois
8School of Medicine; he married Debbie in Bloomington on June
924, 2004; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dr. Bandy joined Dr. James Zimmerman and
11established what would become Bloomington Pediatrics in 1980;
12he devoted 41 years of his life to practicing medicine and
13providing exceptional care for his pediatric patients; he was
14a beloved member of the local healthcare community; he was
15known for his unwavering kindness and generosity, and his
16calming presence and attentive care led some of his patients
17to refer to him as Dr. Band-Aid; his impact on the healthcare
18community will be remembered for years to come; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dr. Bandy enjoyed spending time with his family;
20he loved boating on Lake of the Ozarks and traveling to Hawaii
21and could always be found devouring a good book; and

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Bandy was preceded in death by his parents
2and his father-in-law, Kenneth Shane; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dr. Bandy is survived by his wife, Debbie; his
4stepsons, Alex (Erin), Luke (Amy), and Ben Roth; his
5grandchildren, Ford, Quinn, and Lena Roth; and his mother-in
6law, Carolyn Shane; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dr. John Roberts Bandy and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dr. Bandy as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
