SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Danny L. Miner of Moline, who passed
4away on May 17, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Danny Miner was born to Frank and Kathryn
6(Pickett) Miner in Tacoma, Washington on February 2, 1952; he
7was raised in Rainier, Washington until his family moved to
8Tooele, Utah when he was 10 years old; he graduated from Tooele
9High School in 1970; after attending the University of Utah
10for one year, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1971
11to 1975; following his honorable discharge, he graduated from
12Weber State College in Ogden, Utah; he married Stefani Green
13in Davenport, Iowa on June 20, 1987, and they raised their
14daughter and son in Moline; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Danny Miner began his career working for the U.S.
16Government shortly after graduating from college; he worked at
17the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, later transferring to
18the Tooele Army Depot; he retired as an ammunition logistics
19manager from the Rock Island Arsenal after 34 years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Danny Miner was an accomplished bowler, an avid
21record collector, and a devoted family man; he participated,
22either by coaching or cheering, in his children's every

1athletic endeavor; he could often be found walking his dog
2Izzy or cheering on the San Francisco 49ers or the Utah Utes
3football teams; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Danny Miner was a wonderful husband, father, son,
5brother, uncle, friend, and coach; he was known for his swift
6ability to recall any sports trivia fact, music lyric, or the
7date a photo was taken; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Danny Miner was preceded in death by his father,
9Frank Miner, and his nephew, Rusty Tate; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Danny Miner is survived by his wife, Stefani; his
11daughter, Lindsey (Joe) Orf; his son, Garrett; his mother,
12Tina Miner; his sisters, Linda (Tom) Corwin and Alice Tate;
13and his numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and
14sisters-in-law; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Danny L. Miner and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Danny Miner as an expression of our
