SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Clarence "Butch" Erickson of
4Reynolds, who passed away on May 9, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was born to Edd and Mildred
6(Bingman) Erickson in Rock Island on February 11, 1930; he
7served in the U.S. Army; he married Donna J. Doonan at St.
8John's Church in Preemption on March 3, 1955; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was previously employed as a
10petroleum salesman for MER-ROC F.S., Inc.; after more than 30
11years of service, he retired in 1992; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was a member of Reynolds American
13Legion Post #1166 for over 50 years; he also served as a
14trustee for the Reynolds Fire Department; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was a true handyman and was
16lovingly known as the "fix it guy" who enjoyed helping his
17family with all types of chores; he loved being outdoors,
18playing golf, and drinking coffee with his friends and family;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was preceded in death by his

1parents and his brothers, Ralph, Delbert, Clyde, and William
2Erickson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Butch Erickson is survived by his wife, Donna;
4his children, Jim (Jean) Erickson and JoAnn Erickson; his
5grandchildren, Luke (Kathleen) Erickson, Seth (Meredith)
6Erickson, Jake (Carrie) Erickson, Mathew (Patricia) McGraw,
7Chelsea (Jason) Schlueter, Allie (Travis) Fleming, and Maria
8McGraw; and his 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Clarence "Butch" Erickson and extend our sincere condolences
12to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Butch Erickson as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
