SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James Carl "Jim" Helfers of Cuba, who
4passed away on February 24, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Helfers was born to Carl and Glenda
6(Throgmartin) Helfers in Hillsboro on December 19, 1954; he
7graduated from Minonk-Dana-Rutland (MDR) High School in 1973;
8he married Kim Hammond in Lewistown on October 16, 2020; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim Helfers retired from the Steamfitters Union
10Local #353 in Peoria in 2008; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jim Helfers enjoyed motorcycles; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jim Helfers was preceded in death by his parents
13and his brother, Chuck Helfers; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Helfers is survived by his wife; his
15children, Heidi (the late Troy) Edwards, Heather Helfers, Cody
16(Jen) Helfers, and Hailey Helfers; his stepson, Brandon
17Hammond; his brothers, Marty (Teresa) Helfers, Mike (Karen)
18Helfers, and Danny (Cher) Helfers; his sister, Nancy Hall; and
19his grandchildren, Kaleb, Austin, Keegan, Skylar, Landon, and
20Jaclyn; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3James Carl "Jim" Helfers and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Jim Helfers as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
