SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Isaac "Ike" Rangel of Moline, who
4passed away on January 30, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ike Rangel was born in Moline to Isaac Sr. and
6Frances (Olvera) Rangel on July 17, 1937; he served in the U.S.
7Army; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ike Rangel worked for the former Rock Island
9Lines and retired from John Deere Harvester in East Moline;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ike Rangel was a Iowa Hawkeye fan; in his younger
12days, he played baseball and helped coach in the Mexican
13League; he enjoyed playing pool and piks; he was generous to a
14fault and loved doting over his granddaughter, Giana; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ike Rangel was preceded in death by his parents;
16his longtime companion, Patricia Ann "Patty" Cervantes; and
17his siblings, Elvira "Lil" Nache, and David and Joseph "Boss"
18Rangel; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ike Rangel is survived by his sons, Chris Rangel,
20Bo Rangel, Daniel Rangel, and Patrick Cervantes; his

1grandchildren, Alyssa and Giana; and his siblings, Paul and
2Erny Rangel; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Isaac "Ike" Rangel and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ike Rangel as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
