SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kent Gilmore Farley of Coal Valley,
4who passed away on February 5, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kent Farley was born to Eldridge and Gladys
6(Gilmore) Farley in Rhodell, West Virginia on February 23,
71938; he served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from
8Bradley University; he was a pitcher in the Air Force and for
9the Bradley University baseball teams; while at Bradley, he
10compiled an impressive career ERA of 2.29 and batting average
11of .347; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kent Farley worked for First Midwest Bank, Moline
13before owning and operating the Country Fair Mall in Coal
14Valley for the last 30 plus years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kent Farley was a member of the Elks Club; the
16most important things in his life were his sons and
17grandchildren; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Kent Farley was preceded in death by his parents
19and his brother, Douglas Farley; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Kent Farley is survived by his two sons, Gregory

1Farley and Matthew (Karin) Farley; his grandchildren,
2Elizabeth, Norah, Iris, and Filip Farley; his sister, Cassie
3Pyle; and his nieces and nephews, Mark Farley, Scott Farley,
4Kelly Quick, and Kim Johnson; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Kent Gilmore Farley and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Kent Farley as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
