SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jerry R. Daugherty Sr. of East Moline,
4who passed away on January 4, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Daugherty was born to Earl and Lillie Sue
6(Bowlds) Daugherty in Daviess County, Kentucky on May 22,
71944; he served in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army
8during the Vietnam Conflict; he married Dawn DeLaere on
9January 12, 1980; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry Daugherty retired from John Deere Express
11and later Gress Trucking; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerry Daugherty was a lifetime member of the East
13End Boulders Club and American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 145; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jerry Daugherty will be especially remembered for
15his gentle soul and fun-loving presence; he was a loving
16husband, father, and grandfather; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerry Daugherty was preceded in death by his
18parents; his sisters, Dorothy Whitmer and Theresa Daugherty;
19and his brothers, Earl Wayne, Darrell, and Ron Daugherty; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry Daugherty is survived by his wife, Dawn;
2his children, Jerry R. Daugherty Jr. (Courtney Leonard),
3Jarrett (Savannah) Daugherty, and Alison Daugherty (Richard
4Ouart); his grandchildren, Joshua Daugherty, Breyanna
5Daugherty, Ethan Daugherty, Landon Daugherty, Adriana
6Daugherty, Tyler Ouart, and Tanner Ouart; his siblings, Nancy
7Hendricks, Gary (Debbie) Daugherty, Susie Daugherty, Lee
8"Pixie" Stemmermann, Rita (LaWana) Roberson, Dennis (Mary)
9Daugherty, Mike Daugherty, David (Eva) Daugherty, and Jeff
10(Andy) Daugherty; and his brother-in-law, Robert Whitmer;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Jerry R. Daugherty Sr. of East Moline and extend our sincere
15condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
16him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Jerry Daugherty as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
