SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of George L. Beeding Jr. of Rock Island,
4who passed away on December 30, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Beeding was born to George L. Beeding Sr.
6and Harriett L. (VanAuken) Beeding in Muscatine, Iowa on
7September 1, 1938; he served in the U.S. Navy, traveling to 18
8different countries, and was honorably discharged in 1959; he
9married Lucille A. "Lucy" Heinze in Rock Island on August 21,
101960, and she preceded him in death on August 26, 2016; and
 
11    WHEREAS, George Beeding was a Snap-On Tool dealer for 10
12years; he then worked as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal
13for 28 years; he retired in 1996; and
 
14    WHEREAS, George Beeding was a member of the Edgewood
15Baptist Church in Rock Island, the Pontiac-Oakland Club
16International (POCI), and the National Street Rod Association
17(NSRA); and
 
18    WHEREAS, George Beeding owned a 1955 Pontiac Chieftain
19wagon and most recently owned a 1967 Pontiac Catalina, which
20he loved driving and taking to car shows; he was very
21knowledgeable in building Pontiac engines; he enjoyed fishing

1and meeting his friends for coffee at McDonald's every
2morning; and
 
3    WHEREAS, George Beeding was preceded in death by his wife,
4Lucy; his parents; and his infant daughter, Cynthia Beeding;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, George Beeding is survived by his daughter, Julie
7(Russell) Terry; his son, Jeffrey (Carol) Beeding; his
8grandchildren, Shaelyn Terry and Wyatt Beeding; and his
9sisters, Emma (Dennis) Swanson and Frances "Fran" (James)
10Ryan; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13George L. Beeding Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of George Beeding as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
