SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joseph "Kuya JC" Christopher
4Sunpongco of Chicago, who passed away on October 4, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Sunpongco was born in the Philippines on
6December 24, 2004; he was a consistent honor student at
7Patrick Henry Elementary School; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Before his passing, Joseph Sunpongco was excited
9to get a job, to have his driver's license, to get his own car,
10and to help out his beloved family; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joseph Sunpongco was known by his friends and
12teachers as funny, positive, very smart, humble, loving, and
13polite; to his family, he was a loyal, caring, dependable,
14mature, protective and empowering soul; he enjoyed recording
15rap music in his room and being with friends while playing
16basketball, skateboarding, swimming, biking, or going to Six
17Flags during summer breaks; he loved food from many different
18cultures, including adobo, Filipino-style spaghetti, pansit,
19lumpia, tacos, tamales, burrito, sushi, and lobster; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Joseph Sunpongco is survived by his mother,
21Lanie; his stepfather, David; and his younger siblings, Kairos

1and Savannah; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Joseph "Kuya JC" Christopher Sunpongco and extend our sincere
5condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
6him; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Joseph Sunpongco as an expression
9of our deepest sympathy.
