SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Clifford Wayne Findlay of East Moline,
4formerly of Moline, who passed away on December 13, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was born to Claude and Ella Mae
6(Laughlan) Findlay in Douds, Iowa on August 16, 1936; he
7graduated with the class of 1955 in Douds, Iowa; he served in
8the U.S. Army's 82nd Air Borne Division during the Korean War;
9he married Della Rich in Moline on November 20, 1960; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay worked as a foreman in the
11trucking industry, retiring after 45 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was a member of the Hope United
13Church of Christ for over 60 years and served as president of
14the church bowling team for 45 years and was part of the men's
15Breakfast Club; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was known for being able to fix
17anything; he loved fishing with his friends and enjoyed
18gardening and sharing the garden with others; he kept a
19meticulous yard at his home; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was preceded in death by his

1three brothers, Ronnie, Hugh, and Earl, and his two sisters,
2Lorene and Irene; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay is survived by his wife, Della;
4his daughter, Mari (David) Minor; his son, Mike (Anne)
5Findlay; his grandchildren, Ashley Minor, Eric Minor, Michael
6(Katie) Findlay, and Kelly (Reed) Hogan; and his
7great-granddaughter, Sophie Rae; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Clifford Wayne Findlay and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Clifford Findlay as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
