SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Clinton J. "Clint" Herdegen of Hoffman
4Estates, who passed away on November 22, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clint Herdegen was born on December 29, 1959; he
6graduated from John Hersey High School; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Clint Herdegen spent most of his law enforcement
8career in Hoffman Estates; he joined the department in 1981
9when he was 21; he started his career as a patrolman and became
10police chief in 1998; he served as Hoffman Estates Police
11Chief for 12 years and played a key role in the design of a new
12police station; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Clint Herdegen was hired to be police chief for
14Libertyville in September of 2010, where he helped consolidate
15the village's 911 dispatch center with Vernon Hills and
16created a school resource officer position; he was honored by
17Libertyville officials for his 40 years in law enforcement
18with a special proclamation; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Clint Herdegen served as president of the
20Northern Illinois Police Alarm System, chairman of the
21Northwest Police Academy, and president of the Northeastern

1Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Clint Herdegen enjoyed cheering on the Cubs and
3camping with his family; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Clint Herdegen was the beloved husband of Sharon
5(Parks) Herdegen and the loving father of Amanda (Matthew)
6Camarata, Clinton J. (Genevieve) Herdegen Jr., and Kristine
7(Kevin Howell) Herdegen; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Clinton J. "Clint" Herdegen and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Clint Herdegen as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
