SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Minister Ronald "Ron" A. Allgood of
4Rock Island, who passed away on November 23, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Allgood was born to Kenneth and Peggy
6(Roberts) Allgood in Akron, Ohio on January 13, 1959; he
7attended Butchel High School where he loved to play basketball
8and run track; he attended Kent State University, after which
9he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served for seven
10years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ron Allgood worked for many years as a car
12salesman and enjoyed meeting new people every day; he became a
13minister at Progressive Baptist Church and found great
14happiness in placing his faith at the head of his life; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ron Allgood was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and
16enjoyed luxury cars and fishing; the only thing he loved more
17than fishing was spending time with his family, especially his
18children and grandchildren; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ron Allgood was preceded in death by his parents
20and his brother, Bernard Allgood; and

1    WHEREAS, Ron Allgood is survived by his wife, Jackie
2Allgood; his brother, Kenneth (Michelle) Allgood; his sister,
3Valerie (Albert) Allgood-Smith; his children, Ronald (Terra)
4Allgood Jr., Brian Chance, Charles Allgood, Jasmine (Omar)
5Allgood-Ward, Candice (Lawrence) Manson, Ronson Allgood,
6Shaneeka (Alex) Filippi, and DJ Baker; 20 grandchildren; four
7great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Ronald "Ron" A. Allgood and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Ron Allgood as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
