SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lionel Donald Boisvert of Moline, who
4passed away November 9, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert was born in Peace Dale, Rhode
6Island to Andrew and Marie (Roy) Boisvert on January 7, 1931;
7he joined the U.S. Army on January 7, 1948 at the age of 17; he
8married Ruby Hayes in Springfield, Tennessee on October 19,
91951; he served his country for 24 years, retiring with the
10rank of E8 First Sergeant; he served with the 187th Regimental
11Combat Team during the Korean War, parachuting behind enemy
12lines; he served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and retired from
13the U.S. Army on November 1, 1970; and
 
14    WHEREAS, After his service in the U.S. Army, Lionel
15Boisvert obtained an associate degree in accounting and worked
16for John Deere & Company; he retired in 1990 with 17 years of
17service; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert was of the Catholic faith; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert was preceded in death by his
20wife, Ruby; his parents; his son, Timmy Boisvert; his
21daughter, Gail Forsythe; his brothers, Paul, Leo, Alfred, and

1Bobby Boisvert; and his sisters, Marianna Gardner, Florida
2Cook, Irene Pignoct, and Margaret Stringer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lionel Boisvert is survived by his sons, Donald
4(Debra) and Allen Boisvert; his grandchildren, Keith (Marie)
5Wright, Ryan Dopson, Shawn Boisvert, and Nicholas (Allison)
6Boisvert; and his great-grandchildren, Mikalah, Savanna, Lily,
7Keith Jr., and Milo; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Lionel Donald Boisvert and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lionel Boisvert as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
