SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James Henry "Jim" Hendricks of Virden,
4who passed away on November 11, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks was born in Chicago to Joseph H.
6and Elinor C. (Heuser) Hendricks on November 10, 1937; he
7graduated from Virden High School in 1955 and from Southern
8Illinois University Carbondale in 1959; he married Margaret
9Eleanor DeLassus in 1960; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks was deeply involved in the Virden
11community since taking over his family business, Hendricks
12Home Furnishings in Virden, in 1962; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks had a love of business, his family,
14and getting to know community members and customers from all
15over Central Illinois; during his lifetime, he was a member of
16the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish in Virden and served
17on the Virden Chamber of Commerce, the First National Bank
18Board, the Virden Cemetery Board, and the Virden School Board;
19he was interested in current events, politics, fishing, and
20gardening and held a deep love for his country; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks was preceded in death by his

1parents and his brother, Joe Hendricks; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Jim Hendricks is survived by his wife, Margaret;
3his children, Amy M. (Roger) Cacciatori, Jamie J. Hendricks,
4and Becky J. Hendricks; his grandchildren, Matt Eskew and
5Meghan (Zane) Richardson; his great-grandson, Cole Eskew; his
6sister, Judy (Ken) MacMurdo; his brother, Jeff (Judy)
7Hendricks; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10James Henry "Jim" Hendricks and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jim Hendricks as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
