SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kathleen Florence Hartley Lightfoot,
4who passed away on March 9, 2021 at the age of 66; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kathleen Lightfoot attended elementary school,
6high school, and college in Chicagoland; she graduated from
7St. Angela in 1968, Siena High School in 1972, Wright Junior
8College in 1974, and Northeastern Illinois University in 1978;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kathleen Lightfoot was an employee of the Shea,
11Paige, and Rogal law firm for more than 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kathleen Lightfoot's animal advocacy was the
13impetus for Illinois legislation to regulate trainers; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Kathleen Lightfoot was a guitarist,
15horticulturalist, and miniature room designer; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Kathleen Lightfoot was preceded in death by her
17parents, John T. and Mary L. ( Ward) Hartley; her husband, Fred
18W. Lightfoot; and her cousin, Julie DiCarlo; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kathleen Lightfoot is survived by her siblings,

1John M. and Robert (Mary) Hartley and Mary (Larry) Price; her
2nephews, David and Jack Hartley; her niece, Gracie Hartley;
3her cousins, Bill (Patty), Jim, Joe, and Michael Cox, and Peg
4(Dennis) Gaffke; her siblings-in-law, Cy and Shirley
5Lightfoot; and her countless other family members, classmates,
6and co-workers; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Kathleen Florence Hartley Lightfoot and extend our sincere
10condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
11her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Kathleen Lightfoot an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
