SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Virginia Rose Roberts of Granite City,
4who passed away on September 22, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Roberts was born to Arthur and Libby
6(Santagato) Lombardi in Granite City on October 17, 1928; she
7married Everett Eugene "Gene" Roberts on September 10, 1949;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Virginia Roberts worked as a secretary at the
10Melvin Price U.S. Army Support Center for eight years; after
11being a stay at home mom and raising her three children, she
12worked as a typist for Belleville Area College for ten years;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Virginia Roberts was a faithful member of Holy
15Family Catholic Church in Granite City; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Virginia Roberts loved watching baseball, and she
17was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; she loved life and loved
18to laugh; most of all, she loved her family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Virginia Roberts was preceded in death by her
20parents; her husband; and her sisters, Ann Hamilos, Mary

1Germanece, and Delores Mort; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Virginia Roberts is survived by her loving
3children, Thomas (Tammy) Roberts, Carol (Brian) Clawson, and
4Diane Roberts; her dear brothers, Michael Lombardi and Bob
5(Kathy) Lombardi; her grandchildren, Nick (Carla Haug)
6Roberts, Ryan (Danielle) Roberts, Brent (Alex) Wolk, Kelsey
7(Russ) Kessman, Haleigh (Jeff) Haberberger, and Taylor
8Buchanan; her great-grandchildren, Elsie Roberts, Everett
9"Rhett" Roberts, James Kessman, Jude Kessman, Quinn
10Haberberger, and Avery Burns; her many nieces and nephews; her
11extended family; and her friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Virginia Rose Roberts and extend our sincere condolences to
15her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Virginia Roberts as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
