SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Orlando A. Krueger of Springfield, who
4passed away on August 11, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was born in Springfield to Otto
6W. and Edna M (Niewedde) Krueger on October 4, 1926; he served
7in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949; he received his
8undergraduate degree from Ripon College; he earned his
9master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of
10Illinois in Champaign-Urbana; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger held numerous positions as a
12civil engineer in roadway and dam construction industries; he
13most recently served as vice president of S.J. Groves & Sons
14Contractors, an international highway and tunneling company,
15until his retirement; he was most proud of several of his
16engineering projects, namely Garrison Dam in North Dakota and
17the rehabilitation of the Eden's Expressway in Chicago; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was a founding member of Our
19Savior's Lutheran Church, where he served on various boards
20and committees and sang in the choir; he was instrumental in
21the development of Camp Cilca; he also served on the founding
22board of Concordia Village; and

1    WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was deeply proud of his family;
2he enjoyed international travel and was a big supporter of the
3many sports and activities of the Lutheran High School
4Crusaders; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was preceded in death by his
6wife, Marjorie Paulen; his second wife, Jane Krusa; his
7sisters, Arlene Krueger and Claretta Scott; and his brothers,
8Loren Krueger, Bernard Krueger, and Wilbur Krueger; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger is survived by his sons, Clifford
10"Cliff" (Lisa J.) Krueger and Curtis "Curt" (Lisa A.) Krueger;
11his four grandchildren; his four step-grandchildren; his
12several great-grandchildren; his brothers, Rev. Delmar (Doris)
13Krueger and Herbert (Virginia) Krueger; and his numerous
14nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Orlando A. Krueger and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Orlando Krueger as an expression of
