SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" V. Ventimiglia of
4Alton, who passed away on August 7, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia was born to Leonardo and
6Catherine (Pinta) Ventimiglia in Alton on November 4, 1923; he
7attended Catholic schools in Alton and was a member of St.
8Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; he married Edith "Edie" Ford
9at St. Patrick's Church in Alton on April 15, 1944; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia and his father founded Midtown
11Restaurant in Alton in the early 1940s; he and his wife opened
12Tony's Restaurant in downtown Alton in 1954, where he worked
13until his retirement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia was the kindest and hardest
15working man his family has ever known; he loved his family, his
16friends, his customers, and his restaurant with his whole
17heart; he was a legend in the Alton restaurant community; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia was preceded in death by his
19parents; his son, Leonard Ventimiglia; and his three sisters,
20Mary Long, Jo-Kay Butkovich, and Anne Yeck; and

1    WHEREAS, Tony Ventimiglia is survived by his wife; his
2son, Michael Ventimiglia; his grandchildren, Paul (Erin)
3Ventimiglia, Betsy Bechel, Shawna Ventimiglia, and Leonard
4Ventimiglia III; his ten great-grandchildren; and his sister,
5Pauline Muehling; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Anthony "Tony" V. Ventimiglia and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Tony Ventimiglia as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
