SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gary L. Foster of Milan, who passed
4away on March 14, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Foster was born to Francis and Ruth (Harper)
6Foster in Moline on August 4, 1949; he was a proud veteran who
7served in the 3/187th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division known
8as the Rakkasans; he married Mary Hynes at Fort Bragg, North
9Carolina on March 7, 1970; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gary Foster retired from the Rock Island Arsenal,
11where he worked as an engineer; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gary Foster enjoyed woodworking, golfing, playing
13pool, and spending time with his friends at Mr. Ed's; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gary Foster was preceded in death by his wife,
15Mary K. Foster; his parents; and his siblings, Beverly
16(Robert) Bethel, Kenneth Foster, Marilyn Petersen, John
17(Linda) Foster, and Kay Jennings; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gary Foster is survived by his children, Tim
19(Margret) Foster and Stacy Jewell; his grandchildren,
20Christina Attaway, Damien Foster, Korbi Foster, Mya Johnson,

1and Macy, Morgan, Kelsea, and Cooper Foster; his
2great-grandchildren, Thea and Riley Attaway, Liliana, Jase,
3and Lorelai Foster, Kingston Boone, and Levi Bahrs; his
4siblings, Bob (JoAnn) Foster, Arlene (John) Greathouse, Denny
5(Judy) Foster, Butch (Penny) Foster, Mike (Kathy) Foster,
6Steve (Sandy) Foster, and Kathy (Woody) Marshall; his
7sister-in-law, Georgia Ernst; and his brother-in-laws, Pat
8Hynes, Sam Petersen, and Ernie Jennings; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Gary L. Foster and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Gary Foster as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
