SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Sara Soledad Villanueva of Chicago,
4who passed away on December 24, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sara Soledad Villanueva was born on September 23,
61963; following her grandfather, she immigrated to the United
7States at the age of 13 with her mother and siblings; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Sara Soledad Villanueva graduated from William H.
9Wells High School in Chicago; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Sara Soledad Villanueva married Teodoro
11Villanueva on July 10, 1991; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Sara Soledad Villanueva attended college part
13time while working full time, volunteering in her community,
14and raising her children, Yesenia, Alex, Celina, and Derek;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, In 2003, Sara Soledad Villanueva graduated from
17Roosevelt University with a master's degree; and
 
18    WHEREAS, For over 25 years, Sara Soledad Villanueva
19volunteered with Instituto del Progreso Latino and Community

1Health to help her neighbors succeed academically and lead
2healthy lives; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Sara Soledad Villanueva forged strong bonds with
4the patients she served; she was described by Community Health
5as their personal Wonder Woman; and
 
6    WHEREAS, In her free time, Sara Soledad Villanueva loved
7to bike, watch old western movies, and watch the Chicago
8Bulls; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sara Soledad Villanueva was deeply loved by her
10family; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Sara Soledad Villanueva and extend our sincere condolences to
14her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Sara Soledad Villanueva as an
18expression of our deepest sympathy.
