SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William "Bill" H. Wisdom of Erie, who
4passed away on February 8, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom was born to Claude and Arvilla
6(Stellrecht) Wisdom in Moline on November 3, 1930; he
7graduated from Geneseo High School; he married Joyce Minnaert
8at St. Malachy's Church in Geneseo on September 12, 1953; he
9served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After his discharge from the military, Bill
11Wisdom began farming in Geneseo and then Erie until 1975; he
12then devoted his time to driving trucks and operating Wisdom
13Trucking, Inc; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom owned and built stock cars; he loved
15racing and followed NASCAR all of his life; he was
16mechanically gifted and could fabricate almost anything; he
17had an amazing sense of direction and was a giving man,
18frequently helping those in need; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom was preceded in death by his parents;
20his brother, Ron Wisdom; and his great-grandson, Mason
21Mitchell; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom is survived by his wife, Joyce; his
2children, Chris (Al) Livingston, Steve Wisdom, Dan (Peggy)
3Wisdom, Mary (Clint) Thulen, and Bill (Kara) Wisdom; his nine
4grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his sisters,
5Shirley Moffitt, Ruth Burkert, and Joyce Evans; therefore, be
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9William "Bill" H. Wisdom and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Bill Wisdom as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
