SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Colleen Ann Ryan of Chicago, who
4passed away on September 13, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan was born to Mark and Mary Ann Murphy
6on June 20, 1982; she never stopped going to school and earned
7numerous degrees and licenses; she married her high school
8sweetheart, Joe Ryan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan devoted herself to working with
10children with special needs; as a special education
11administrator, she fought for extra support for children with
12special needs and trained scores of teachers to do the same;
13this year, she had been offered the position of principal at
14Pilsen Community Academy; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan loved spontaneous get-togethers,
16summer barbecues, predawn runs, and summer trips to Michigan;
17to her, family was sacred; she will be remembered as a kind and
18loyal friend; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan was preceded in death by her father,
20Mark Murphy, and her grandparents, Morgan and Virginia Murphy
21and Timothy Evans; and

1    WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan is survived by her husband, Joe
2Ryan; her three children, Connor Matthew, Nora Mary, and
3Thomas Joseph; her mother, Mary Ann; her sister, Peggy (Chuck)
4Galey; her brothers, Jack Murphy, Mark (Marty) Murphy, and
5Brian Murphy; her nieces and nephews, Ella, Charlie, Brian
6Jr., Ashley, Halle, and Paige; and her sisters-in-law and
7brothers-in-law, Sue (Bill) Abear, Bernie (Judy) Ryan, and
8Chris (Dara) Ryan; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Colleen Ann Ryan and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Colleen Ryan as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
