SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Frank LeRoy Guthrie of Moline, who
4passed away on December 31, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie was born in Rock Island to Frank
6and Isabel N. (Wheeler) Guthrie on August 4, 1942; he served in
7the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Denise Thompson at Edgewood
8Baptist Church in Rock Island; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie worked as a chief design engineer
10at Farmall before its closure; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie was known as a true Mister Fix It
12and a jack of all trades; he loved spending time with his
13family; he enjoyed blues music, the Mississippi Valley Blues
14Society, the Prairie Dog Blues Festival, camping, cooking, and
15the Chicago Cubs; he was a longtime member of the Rock Island
16Conservation Club; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie was preceded in death by his
18parents; his brother, Jeff Guthrie; his son, Sean Guthrie; his
19daughter, Tammy Johnson; and his nephew, Anthony Hayes; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Frank Guthrie is survived by his wife of over 36

1years, Denise; his children, Theresa (Tim) Kinley, Todd
2Guthrie, Tara (Brian) Loomis, Troy Licht, and Tanya (Jeremy)
3Mattingly; his sister, Ann Nelson; his grandchildren, Connor
4Mattingly, Lucas Mattingly, Ashton Licht, Tyler (Lindsay)
5Kinley, Troy (Wendy) Kinley, Dillon Guthrie, Tia (Ryan)
6Vielgut, Mathias (Jerilyn) Guthrie, Nicholas Loomis, Connor
7Loomis, Irelyn Loomis, and Sean Loomis; his
8great-grandchildren, Evelyn Kinley, Cole Kinley, Owen Kinley,
9Tova Kinley, Delilah Vielgut, and Mathias Guthrie Jr.; and a
10host of extended family and friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Frank LeRoy Guthrie and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Frank Guthrie as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
