SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mary "Lorraine" Bromley of Rock
4Island, who passed away on December 13, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley was born to Richard J. and
6Christina R. Van Hoorebeck in Rock Island on February 25,
71921; she graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1939; she
8proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE during World War II;
9she married John L. Bromley in Long Beach, California on
10August 18, 1945; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley worked at the Rock Island
12Arsenal prior to entering the service; she later worked as a
13bookkeeper for private individuals; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley was a member of St. Pius X
15Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic
16Church in Rock Island; she was a blood donor for many years and
17a member of the Trinity Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary and
18Knights of Columbus Auxiliary; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley was preceded in death by her
20husband; her son, John M. Bromley; her sister, Rosedith
21Hawkins; and her brothers, Richard Van Hoorebeke and Francis

2    WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley is survived by her daughters and
3sons-in-law, Carol and Lawrence Clemens, Elizabeth Berridge
4and Jim Loveless, and Kate Bromley; her daughter-in-law,
5Colleen Wiemerslage-Bromley; her granddaughter, Dr. Clara
6Berridge (Elliot Stevens); and her nieces and nephews;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Mary "Lorraine" Bromley and extend our sincere condolences to
11her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lorraine Bromley as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
