SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ray Torri of Rock Island, who passed
4away on January 16, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ray Torri was born to Alfiera (Mazza) and Mario
6Torri in Joliet on September 29, 1936; he attended Sacred
7Heart Grade School and graduated from Joliet Catholic High
8School in 1955; he enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1957
9and served for two years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ray Torri first worked for the telephone company
11and then for Hockenburg Rubin Food Brokers from 1965 until he
12retired at age 62; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ray Torri enjoyed going to the gym, having coffee
14with the guys at Panera every Friday morning, and playing
15Euchre with friends and family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ray Torri was preceded in death by his parents;
17his brother, Norbert; and his sister-in-law, Anne; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ray Torri is survived by his wife, Barbara; his
19daughters, Janet, Patty, and Sharon; his two grandsons, James
20and Glenn; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Ray Torri and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
4friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Ray Torri as an expression of our
7deepest sympathy.
