SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mark D. Cummings of East Moline, who
4passed away on January 2, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Cummings was born to Roy and Bertha (Queen)
6Cummings in Omaha, Nebraska on October 28, 1931; he married
7Janet L. Stein in Omaha on November 9, 1951; he served in the
8U.S. Army Reserves during the Korean War and achieved the rank
9of sergeant; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mark Cummings enjoyed a career as a photoengraver
11in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Rockford, the Quad Cities, and Las
12Vegas; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Cummings enjoyed spending time with his
14grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the love of his life,
15Janet; he was a hard worker his entire life and always found
16something to keep his hands busy; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mark Cummings was preceded in death by his
18parents and his five siblings; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mark Cummings is survived by his wife; his
20children, John, Marjorie (Scott) Rowlands, Michael (Lisa), and

1JoAnn Canfield; his grandchildren, Chad Rowlands, Janine
2Cummings, Adam Rowlands, Tess Hurt, Romanie Brouard, Luke
3Cummings, and Brianna Cummings; and his 12
4great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Mark D. Cummings and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Mark Cummings as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
