SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 850/5 new

    Amends the Illinois and Michigan Canal State Park Act. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law or restriction on the property, including any State rights, easements, or conveyance and reversion clauses restricting sale, the City of Lemont may sell a specified reserve strip of the Illinois and Michigan Canal property. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois and Michigan Canal State Park Act
5is amended by adding Section 5 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 850/5 new)
7    Sec. 5. Sale of property. Notwithstanding any other
8provision of law or restriction on the property, including any
9State rights, easements, or conveyance and reversion clauses
10restricting sale, the City of Lemont may sell the following
11property:
12    THAT PART OF THE SOUTHERLY 90 FOOT RESERVE STRIP OF THE
13    ILLINOIS AND MICHIGAN CANAL, IN SECTION 20, TOWNSHIP 37
14    NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN,
15    LYING WESTERLY OF THE EAST LINE OF LOT 1 IN BLOCK 1 IN THE
16    PLAT OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT, RECORDED AUGUST 8, 1874 AS
17    DOCUMENT 184242, EXTENDED NORTHERLY TO THE NORTH LINE OF
18    SAID RESERVE STRIP; AND LYING NORTHERLY OF THE NORTH LINE
19    OF BLOCK 1 IN SAID PLAT OF THE VILLAGE OF LEMONT; AND LYING
20    EASTERLY OF THE EAST LINE OF ROUTE FAU 2612 PER ILLINOIS
21    DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, LAND ACQUISITION STRIP MAP
22    DATED FEBRUARY 4, 1978 (LATEST REVISION DATED DECEMBER 17,
23    1979) AND KNOWN AS STATE STREET, ALL IN COOK COUNTY,
