    Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the 60-month limitation on the receipt of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits.

1    AN ACT concerning public aid.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5changing Section 4-1.12 as follows:
 
6    (305 ILCS 5/4-1.12)
7    Sec. 4-1.12. Five year limitation. No assistance unit
8shall be eligible for a cash grant under this Article if it
9includes an adult who has received cash assistance as an adult
10for 60 months, whether or not consecutive, after the the
11effective date of this amendatory Act of 1997. The Illinois
12Department may exempt individual assistance units from the
1360-month limitation or determine circumstances under which a
14month or months would not count towards the 60-month
15limitation even though the assistance unit did receive cash
16assistance under this Article.
