HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Gary J.
4LaPaille of Potomac, Maryland, who passed away on December 1,
52022; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Gary LaPaille was born and raised in Chicago; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gary LaPaille served as chairman of the Illinois
8Democratic Party from 1990 to 1998; during his tenure, he was
9elected president of the Association of State Democratic
10Chairs and served as vice chairman of the Democratic National
11Committee; he also served a term in the Illinois Senate from
121993 to 1995; he started his career in politics working in
13various staff positions for former Illinois House Speaker
14Michael J. Madigan and was his chief of staff for 12 years
15prior to entering elected politics; he began his career as a
16lobbyist after leaving the Illinois Senate and founded Capitol
17Management Group in 1995, which was acquired by MWH Global in
181999; he moved to Washington, DC to operate his company as a
19subsidiary and served as senior vice president for government
20affairs until 2016; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Gary LaPaille was a senior advisor at Dentons law
22firm following his long career in government and politics; and

1    WHEREAS, Gary LaPaille was an avid golfer and enjoyed
2playing courses across the country and around the world,
3including many rounds at his home club of TPC Potomac at Avenel
4Farm; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary LaPaille is survived by his mother, Dolores
6LaPaille; his wife, Christine; his children, Joseph, Samuel,
7and Grace; and his daughters-in-law, Allison and Irina;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Gary J. LaPaille and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Gary LaPaille as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
