HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Lauren Witkowski on her
4installation as president of the Women's Bar Association of
5Illinois (WBAI); and
 
6    WHEREAS, The WBAI was first established in 1914 by nine
7women lawyers practicing in the Chicago metropolitan area; it
8is one of the oldest and largest bar associations in the State
9of Illinois; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The WBAI serves as an influential voice in
11promoting the interests and welfare of women in the law,
12offering mentorship and networking opportunities, career
13advice, and events that promote and empower women leaders; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lauren Witkowski is a senior trial attorney with
15Zurich North America; she is based in Chicago and focuses her
16practice in the area of workers' compensation defense,
17representing companies and employers throughout the State of
18Illinois; she earned her undergraduate degree at the
19University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before obtaining her
20Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of
21Law; and

1    WHEREAS, Lauren Witkowski hopes to inspire the board of
2directors of the WBAI and looks forward to fighting for
3legislative action, creating mentorship opportunities, and
4connecting members through networking, community involvement,
5and CLE programming; she pledges to continue the WBAI mission
6to promote, foster, advance, and protect the interests and
7welfare of women and women lawyers; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Lauren Witkowski is driven by a dedication to
9uplifting and encouraging women in the law as they forge their
10own career paths and lives; she is a true leader in the fight
11for greater equality and justice; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate Lauren Witkowski on her installation as
15president of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois and we
16wish her all the best in this new position; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Lauren Witkowski as a symbol of our respect and
19esteem.
