HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives with to congratulate Lynda G. Washington of
4Sauk Village on the occasion of her 65th birthday; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington was born in Chicago on February
611, 1957; her father was the late Pastor E. R. Allen of the
7Christ Bible Center in Chicago; she holds an honorary
8Doctorate of Divinity from the H.O.P.E. Bible Institute and
9Seminary; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington worked as an administrative
11assistant for West-Harvey School District 147 for 30 years and
12was A.F.S.C.M.E. president for Local 93 for 12 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington has been a pastor with
14J.I.L.O.T. A. Worldwide Ministries, Inc. and has preached in
15many states by invitation; she was a member of Christ Bible
16Center, where she served in many capacities and is currently a
17member of the Family Christian Center in Munster, Indiana; she
18also works within the Dr. Lynda G. Washington Ministries, Inc,
19a not-for-profit organization; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington has been a community activist
21for over 45 years in the Chicagoland area; she co-founded the

1KEL-LAW Foundation, Inc., which has provided over 25 years of
2community services for area youth; she has also been involved
3with the Democratic Women of the South Suburbs, registering
4voters and developing programs; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington was elected as a Trustee for
6Sauk Village and served for five years; she was a member of the
7Human Relations Commission; she also chaired her neighborhood
8watch for 10 years and was part of the Rainbow Push Coalition
9for 30 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington has been a radio and television
11personality for over 45 years and is currently the founder and
12co-host with David Santiago of the RE-YOU Show; she authored
13the book, He'll Turn Your Tears to Diamonds, and has produced
14records, hosted events at many venues, and planned many events
15and trips for seniors, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas
16toy drives in Chicago; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lynda Washington is the mother of Kenneth R.
18Washington II and the grandmother of Kenneth R. Washington
19III, Christian, Gabriel, and Hannah Washington; therefore, be
20it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
22HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate Lynda G. Washington of Sauk Village on her
265th birthday, and we wish her many more wonderful years; and
