HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jelani
4Day of Bloomington; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jelani Day was originally from Danville; he was
6the son of Carmen Bolden-Day and the second youngest of five
7siblings, which included two brothers and two sisters; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jelani Day was a track and field athlete at
9Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Huntsville,
10Alabama from 2014 to 2015; he graduated at the top of his class
11with a bachelor's degree in speech pathology in 2018; he was a
12member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jelani Day started his first semester of graduate
14school in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department
15at Illinois State University in Normal in 2018; he was
16pursuing his master's degree in speech pathology; therefore,
17be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we mourn the passing of Jelani Day and extend our sincere
21condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to the family of Jelani Day as an expression of our
