HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Taggart VanEtten on the
4occasion of his setting the new 100-mile treadmill world
5record; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Taggart VanEtten grew up in Manito; he graduated
7from Midwest Central High School; he attended Lincoln College
8and Illinois Central College, where he participated in college
9running and competed in triathlons; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Taggart VanEtten lives in Morton; he works as a
11Physical Education teacher at Bartonville Grade School; he
12also coaches a running team; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Taggart VanEtten completed his record breaking
14100-mile treadmill run in 11 hours, 32 minutes, and 5 seconds
15at Seasons Gastropub in Morton on May 1, 2021, beating the time
16set by previous record holder Zach Bitter by nearly 40
17minutes; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Taggart VanEtten hopes to qualify as a marathon
19runner for the 2024 Olympics; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2we congratulate Taggart VanEtten on his achievement of setting
3the new 100-mile treadmill world record and wish him continued
4success in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to Taggart VanEtten as an expression of our esteem
7and respect.
