HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dora
4Johnson, who passed away on April 9, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dora Johnson was born to Isaac Harper and Matilda
6Reid in Inverness, Mississippi on February 29, 1936; she
7formed a union with Otha Johnson in June of 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, After high school, she went to work at Champion
9Automotive from the 1960s to the 1970s; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dora Johnson was a member of the Eastern Star
11Society; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dora Johnson was known for her loving and caring
13spirit; she had a heart to help people and was always willing
14to help those around her; her love and kindness will always be
15remembered; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dora Johnson was preceded in death by her parents
17and her siblings, Everlene Hull, Ella Mack, Allen Harper,
18Rosetta Smith, and Isaac Harper Jr.; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dora Johnson is survived by her four sons,

1Darryl, Otha, Randy Sr., and Bruce; her five granddaughters,
2Burgundy, Myrala (Rodney), Genina, Sheena, and Jessica; her
3one grandson, Randy Jr.; her nine great-grandchildren,
4Dorshawn, Mya, Tyree, Zalynd, Alex, Excel Jr., Jasmine,
5Cassius, and Mckenzie; her one great-great-granddaughter,
6Jamya; her two sisters, Ruth Mae and Ellastine; her nieces and
7nephews; her cousins; her family; and her close friends;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Dora Johnson and extend our sincere
12condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dora Johnson as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
