HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Crawford, Murphy & Tilly,
4Inc. (CMT) of Springfield on its 75th anniversary and its
5strong legacy of stability and longevity as a company; and
 
6    WHEREAS, CMT began in Springfield in 1946 as three
7partners and a dream; starting in a small, second-floor office
8with no air conditioning, friends and civil engineers Len
9Crawford, Pat Murphy, and Ray Tilly began CMT in the aftermath
10of World War II; the friends had the idea that engineering
11could significantly improve our country's post-war
12infrastructure; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Though CMT has expanded throughout the Midwest
14and Southeast, it is still headquartered in Springfield with
15its original name; and
 
16    WHEREAS, A lot has changed since 1946 and CMT's humble
17beginnings; now, it has more than 20 locations across the
18country; however, the one thing that has remained constant is
19the company's dedication to its employees and local
20communities; and
 
21    WHEREAS, For 75 years, CMT has strived to provide superior

1infrastructure solutions and to be responsive to the needs and
2expectations of its clients, all while fostering growth and
3development for its employees; currently, the engineering
4consulting firm focuses its planning, engineering, design, and
5construction expertise in the areas of aviation, rail,
6environmental and wetlands services, surface transportation,
7municipal and civil architecture and construction, and
8leveraging technology for the benefit of its clients; and
 
9    WHEREAS, CMT has received recognition for its work over
10the years, including being named the 2020 Large Firm of the
11Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies-Illinois
12Chapter (ACEC-IL), the 2014 Design Firm of the Year by ENR
13Midwest, the Illinois Society of Professional Engineer
14(ISPE)'s Best Large Firm to Work For in 2018, and many more;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, CMT has proudly advocated for the communities in
17which it works, with efforts extending from the local, such as
18donating and volunteering time to charitable organizations
19like the United Way, to the global, including supporting
20college students in Engineers without Borders and promoting
21STEM initiatives for students of all ages; beyond delivering
22value to clients, it has shown a commitment to bringing value
23to its local and international communities; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we congratulate Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. on its 75th
4anniversary and wish the company 75 more years of success; and
5be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to CMT, Inc. as an expression of our esteem and
8respect.
