AMENDMENT TO HOUSE RESOLUTION 72

2    AMENDMENT NO. ___. Amend House Resolution 72 on page 28,
3by replacing lines 6 through 15 with the following:
 
4    "(c-5) Notwithstanding any other provision of these Rules,
5members of the Rules Committee may, at the discretion of the
6Chairperson, participate remotely in its meetings, except
7those held on regular, veto, special, or joint session days. A
8member participating remotely shall be considered present,
9including for purposes of voting in accordance with Rule 49
10and determining if a quorum is present. Action taken by a
11member of the committee who is participating remotely shall
12have the same legal effect as if the member were physically
13present when the action is taken. The Speaker may establish
14additional procedures for remote participation pursuant to
15this subsection and shall designate the technology or software
16that must be used. The technology or software must, at a
17minimum, be sufficient to (1) verify the identity of a member

1who is participating remotely, (2) allow the public, including
2representatives of the press, to hear or view each member and
3witness who is participating remotely, and (3) allow witnesses
4to testify as permitted under Rule 26."; and
 
5on page 81, by replacing lines 15 through 19 with the
6following:
 
7    "permitted by the other person; and
8        (3) have submitted to and passed a temperature check
9    prior to entry. ; and
10        (4) have passed through a metal detector prior to
11    entry."; and
 
12on page 100, by replacing lines 2 through 6 with the following:
 
13    "(d) Unless the Presiding Officer otherwise orders, the
14standing hour to which the House adjourns is 12:00 noon,
15except on the last day of a week in which the House convenes in
16regular, veto, or special session, in which case the standing
17hour to which the House adjourns is 12:30 p.m.".
