SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 605/9  from Ch. 8, par. 309

    Amends the Animal Welfare Act. In provisions concerning the renewal of a license, provides that, at least 30 days before each license expires, the Department of Agriculture shall notify each licensee of specified provisions of the Act, the fee for renewal, and any penalty for a renewal that occurs after the license expires. Provides that the notification shall be provided in writing by both mail and email.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Animal Welfare Act is amended by changing
5Section 9 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 605/9)  (from Ch. 8, par. 309)
7    Sec. 9. Each license shall be issued for the term of one
8fiscal year or for such part thereof as remains at the time of
9the issuance of the license. Each license shall be renewed
10during the month of June of each year. Each license not renewed
11during June of each year shall expire on June 30 of that year.
12    At least 30 days before each license expires, the
13Department shall notify each licensee of the provisions of
14this Section, the fee for renewal, and any penalty for a
15renewal that occurs after the license expires. The
16notification shall be provided in writing by both mail and
17email.
18    A license must be prominently displayed at each place of
19business of the licensee. Where the licensee conducts business
20at more than one address, branch office licenses shall be
21issued on payment of the required fee.
22    Each license shall be signed by the Director of the
23Department and shall be issued under the seal of the
