SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
55 ILCS 5/5-43027 new
65 ILCS 5/1-2.1-5.5 new

    Amends the Counties Code and Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that, in counties with a population of 3,000,000 or more and in all home rule municipalities, a corporation, limited liability company, or limited liability partnership may appear at an administrative hearing proceeding through any individual who has the authority to act on behalf of and with power to bind the respective corporation, limited liability company, or limited liability partnership in the matter that is the subject of the administrative hearing proceeding. Provides that the language may not be construed to permit appearances by any such individual in contested property tax proceedings. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section
55-43027 as follows:
 
6    (55 ILCS 5/5-43027 new)
7    Sec. 5-43027. Representation at hearings. In counties with
8a population of 3,000,000 or more, a corporation, limited
9liability company, or limited liability partnership may appear
10at an administrative hearing proceeding through any individual
11who has the authority to act on behalf of and with power to
12bind the respective corporation, limited liability company, or
13limited liability partnership in the matter that is the
14subject of the administrative hearing proceeding. Nothing in
15this Section may be construed to permit appearances by any
16such individual in contested property tax proceedings.
 
17    Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
18adding Section 1-2.1-5.5 as follows:
