    Amends the Clinical Social Work and Social Work Practice Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the powers and duties of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Clinical Social Work and Social Work
5Practice Act is amended by changing Section 5 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 20/5)  (from Ch. 111, par. 6355)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2028)
8    Sec. 5. Powers and duties of the Department. Subject to
9the the provisions of this Act, the Department shall exercise
10the following functions, powers, and duties:
11        (1) Conduct or authorize examinations to ascertain the
12    qualifications and fitness of candidates for a license to
13    engage in the independent practice of clinical social work
14    and in the practice of social work, pass upon the
15    qualifications of applicants for licenses, and issue
16    licenses to those who are found to be fit and qualified.
17        (2) Adopt rules required for the administration and
18    enforcement of this Act.
19        (3) Adopt rules for determining approved undergraduate
20    and graduate social work degree programs and prepare and
21    maintain a list of colleges and universities offering such
22    approved programs whose graduates, if they otherwise meet
23    the requirements of this Act, are eligible to apply for a

1    license.
2        (4) Prescribe forms to be issued for the
3    administration and enforcement of this Act consistent with
4    and reflecting the requirements of this Act and rules
5    adopted pursuant to this Act.
6        (5) Conduct investigations related to possible
7    violations of this Act.
8        (6) Maintain rosters of the names and addresses of all
9    persons who hold valid licenses under this Act. These
10    rosters shall be available upon written request and
11    payment of the required fee.
