SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary M. Monti on June 16, 2019 at the age
4of 76; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Monti was born to Eunice and Lyle Stanford in
6Washington, D.C. on April 24, 1943 and was the stepdaughter of
7Virginia Stanford; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Monti lived in several states before moving
9from Madison, Wisconsin to Chicago in her early high school
10years; she later lived in Cicero and Berwyn before settling in
11Oak Park; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mary Monti was a professionally trained ballet
13dancer who performed with the Illinois Ballet Company under
14Richard Ellis and Christine Du Boulay in the late 1950s and
15early 1960s; she taught dance in Evanston and opened her own
16dance studio in Cicero in the early 1970s; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mary Monti became a nurses' aide and then a
18registered nurse; she worked as a pediatric nurse for over 20
19years in Chicago at Loretto Hospital, the University of
20Illinois Pediatrics Clinic, and La Rabida Children's Hospital;

1    WHEREAS, Mary Monti loved antiquing and traveling the world
2with her husband, Joseph; she was an avid reader and a pet
3lover and enjoyed going to musicals, operas, orchestra
4concerts, and dance performances; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Monti was active in two churches, St.
6Christopher's of Oak Park and St. Michael's of Berwyn, serving
7both parishes as a stewardship leader; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Monti was preceded in death by her parents,
9Lyle and Eunice; her stepmother, Virginia; her daughter, Amy
10Monti; and her loving husband of almost 57 years, Joseph Monti;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mary Monti had one sister, Lyla; one half-sister,
13Eunice; two stepsisters, Karen and Jackie; and four
14stepbrothers, Allan, Curt, Steve, and Tom; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mary Monti is survived by her children, Joseph
16(Brenda) and David (Brenda); her grandchildren, Isabel, Peter,
17Aaron, and Alyssa; numerous nieces and nephews; and her
18goddaughter, Lyla Marie Rodriguez; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Mary M. Monti and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
2friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Mary Monti as an expression of our
