SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leslie P. Overcash of Rock Island, who
4passed away on April 7, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash was born to Leonard and Reta
6(Kennedy) Overcash in Canton on August 13, 1947; he graduated
7from Valley High School in 1965 and joined the U.S. Army in
81966; he first served in Thailand and later volunteered to
9serve with the 589th Corps of Engineers in An Khe, Vietnam; he
10served honorably until he returned home in 1970; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash worked as a printer at Pip
12Printing Bettendorf; he was also a handy man throughout the
13Quad-Cities and Canton area; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash was best known for his old trucks,
15his love of fishing and being outdoors, and making others
16laugh; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash was preceded in death by his
18parents and his brother, Ronald Overcash; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash is survived by his children, David
20Overcash and Lori (John) VandeVoorde; his grandchildren,

1Leeann, Drew, and Reese; and his siblings, Lynn (Jeanne)
2Overcash, Richard Overcash, Jennifer West, and Jeanette
3Overcash; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Leslie P. Overcash and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Leslie Overcash as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
