SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert "Bob" H. Murdock of Coal Valley,
4who passed away on May 4, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Murdock was born to Kenneth and Esther
6(Stillinger) Murdock in Malvern, Iowa on October 1, 1926; he
7graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1950 and
8married Bertha L. "Lorry" Dry on June 8 of that year; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Murdock worked as an engineer; he retired from
10the Rock Island Arsenal in 1979; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Murdock enjoyed spending his time restoring
12old cars and working as an amateur carpenter in his garage; he
13liked to go metal and coin detecting; above all, he cherished
14his time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bob Murdock was preceded in death by his parents
16and his siblings, Randall, Richard, Carolyn, David "Roger", and
17Alice; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Murdock is survived by his wife, Lorry; his
19children, Jeff (Sandy) Murdock, and Cynthia Ann (Donald)
20Martin; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Donald) Searing, Samuel

1(Krissy) Murdock, and Chris (Jennifer) Murdock; and his five
2great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Robert "Bob" H. Murdock and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Bob Murdock as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
