SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Larry Wood of Carterville, who
4passed away on January 27, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Wood was born in Carbondale to John and
6Naomi (Hicks) Wood on January 30, 1941; his mother remarried
7John G. Menteer after his father's passing, and Menteer helped
8raise Charles; he married Mary Ann Easter on May 2, 1981; he
9served his country in the U.S. Navy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Charles Wood worked as a Head Shipper for U.S.
11Steel; he later worked for Hadady Corporation until his
12retirement; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Charles Wood enjoyed the outdoors and loved
14NASCAR; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Wood was preceded in death by his wife;
16his parents; his sister, Sandra Kay; and his brother, Gary
17Wood; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Charles Wood is survived by his children, John
19Wood, Larry Wood, Angela (Gary) Spurlock, Lisa (Danny) Webb,
20Bill (Rhonda) Piper, Glinda (Phillip) Schiller, Chris

2Hollifield, and Luffman Jestes; his 30 grandchildren; his many
3great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Judy Jones and Pat
4Rawson; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Charles Larry Wood and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Charles Wood as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
